Chef Olivia Binn-Ostrow’s versatility as a chef is a genuine reflection of the diverse and colorful life she has led. Oliva, a native of Paris, France, she first learned to cook at a young age at home in the family kitchen with her mother, a prototypical French country chef, and reaped the benefits of high-level, hands-on experience with a mentor and friend – who also happened to be a top chef of a fine French restaurant. Though she quickly became an expert at preparing French cuisine, Olivia’s early affinity for American culture and a desire to explore it has taken her on a journey that she calls, `an eclectic collection of things in my life,’ culminating with the opening of O Restaurant, in downtown Stuart.
Following her college experience, Olivia joined her father, awarded the Michelin star, among the highest culinary honors in France-in Greensboro, North Carolina, where together they owned and operated an award-winning French restaurant in Greensboro, N.C Le RendezVous. while Olivia obtained her M.BA. at the University of North Carolina. It was then that Olivia was able to expand her skills to incorporate traditional American influences into her cooking while learning about the food industry.
Soon after, Olivia took her entrepreneurial spirit to Knoxville, Tennessee where she opened her own restaurant and clothing boutique RendezVous Olivia H. This landmark venture launched Olivia’s career on a fast-track of entrepreneurism and won her acclaim and press recognition. She was named, `Best New Business’ by Lucky Magazine, touted for her savvy sense and ability to blend Parisian-style fashion and French and Moroccan cuisine, woven in down-home Southern-cooking flair.
In 2017, Binn-Ostrow launched her catering and events business “A Food Affair” and in under two years, garnered the coveted “Taste of Martin County” award for best dessert. With celebrated success, she has since been invited to present at popular food festivals and to host and cook at some of the area’s finest restaurants.
Binn-Ostrow prides herself in creating culinary delights to her customers’ satisfaction and derives great satisfaction from discerning the raw, honest emotions detailed by their faces as they taste her delectable, authentic offerings.
